Bordeaux Blancs Tasting in Brighton
And the styles ranged in price from £6.96 – £19.99 – showcasing the scale of affordable white Bordeaux wines. There was also one Bordeaux sweet white wine; a Premier Côtes de Bordeaux to pair with dessert.
During the evening we were joined by two winemakers; Marie-Pierre Lallez from Château des Tourtes and Estelle Roumage from Château Lestrille, who were there to talk to journalists about their wines and answer any questions. Château des Tourtes is located in the Côtes de Bordeaux region and produces wines in the Haut-Médoc and Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellations. Château Lestrille is situated in the region of Entre-deux-Mers
The evening was soon in full swing as journalists arrived to try the different white wine styles. After everyone had tasted the majority of the profiles, they were steered outside into the garden while food – cold meats, salmon, meat pies and salad were brought out onto the table and the wines taken outside so that guests could help themselves to the wine they preferred to pair with food. The meal was followed by strawberries and cream, which could be paired with the Bordeaux sweet white wine.
