The Terroirs
The Bordeaux dry white wine terroir is composed of two different areas. One is the region north and east of the Dordogne, with fairly deep clay-limestone soil perfectly suited to Sauvignon Blanc. The other area is composed of more sandy, gravelly hillsides, better suited for Sémillon. The blending of these two varieties results in AOC's that are fruity, lively and always harmonious, with good aromatic strength and a certain roundness in the mouth. One AOC even produces classified dry white, known for their outstanding complexity and their aromatic power, typical of the terroir.
