Wine tasting
basics
A wine can be tasted in a thousand different ways, but to truly understand the cuvée in your glass, we suggest following three essential steps.
The steps of
Tasting
The first is simply to observe the wine : its colour, its reflections, its clarity. This quiet moment of contemplation already reveals part of its personality.
Then comes the first nose. Bring the glass gently towards you as soon as it’s poured to capture the most volatile aromas.
Next, the second nose: swirl the wine lightly to release a new wave of aromatics. Each nose tells its own story.
On the palate, focus on how the wine moves : the attack, the mid‑palate, the finish. Texture, freshness, flavour, length — all are key markers. This is where the wine truly expresses itself and reveals the harmony characteristic of wines from Bordeaux.
Now it’s your turn !
