Château Penin – 56 Malbec
“The ‘56 Malbec’ from Château Penin is a remarkable 100% Malbec cuvée, which is rare in Bordeaux. It shows a dark ruby colour, a nose of ripe black fruits and flowers (violet), with an elegant structure and lively acidity. On the palate, the tannins are present yet polished, with lovely tension and an expressive, aromatic finish.”

History
of the estate
“Château Penin is a family estate located in Entre-Deux-Mers, farmed by the Carteyron family for several generations. The estate covers around 50 hectares of vines on gravel soils and well-drained terroirs. The philosophy is to limit the influence of oak in order to express the typicity of the soil and pure fruit as much as possible. The ‘56 Malbec’ wine underlines the estate’s quest for originality by highlighting a grape variety less commonly associated with the Bordeaux region.”
