Château la Rame – La Charmille
“The ‘La Charmille’ cuvée from the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux appellation is a red wine made from Merlot (≈ 65%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (≈ 35%), depending on the vintage. It has a lovely structure, with density and depth, while retaining elegance and balance. The wine is partially aged in barrels (around one-third new) for 15 to 18 months to gain in complexity.”

History
of the estate
“The La Rame estate, run by the Armand family, produces several cuvées across various appellations (Cadillac, Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, Bordeaux). The vineyard spreads over sandy, limestone and clay soils, with parcels facing towards the banks of the Garonne. The property allocates around 12,000 bottles of this cuvée to the US market, reflecting a strong export ambition. The name ‘La Charmille’ may refer to a hornbeam hedge or a distinctive landscape feature of the terroir or property.”
