Contributing to an attractive wine sector

In 2023, Bordeaux wine exports reached €2.23 billion, accounting for 31% of Gironde’s total export value. This places the wine sector as the leading exporter in the department, ahead of aeronautics. It is also Gironde’s largest employer, with 60,000 direct and indirect jobs, spanning a wide range of skills and professions — from vineyard and cellar work to administrative, commercial and logistics roles.

To ensure that Bordeaux remains a major player on the global wine stage, the region is constantly evolving. Our ambition is clear: to continue attracting talent, retaining employees, and protecting the Bordeaux brand from counterfeiting. The expertise and commitment of the women and men of Bordeaux are essential to striking the right balance between a centuries‑old heritage and the ability to reinvent ourselves.

The long‑term future of our businesses and our professions depends on it.
