Le Bar à Vin
De BordeaUX
Discover the
WIne bar
Keen to explore a new cuvée, get guidance on an appellation, or simply enjoy a glass in an exceptional setting?
Welcome to the Bar à Vin — the go‑to address for discovering the full palette of Bordeaux: reds, dry and sweet whites, rosés, Clairets and crémants.
Located on the ground floor of the Maison du Vin de Bordeaux — home of the Bordeaux Wine Council — this emblematic spot occupies the Hôtel Gobineau, an 18th‑century building whose curved façade evokes the prow of a ship, a nod to the city’s maritime history.
Entirely redesigned by architect Françoise Bousquet, the Bar à Vin blends neo‑classical architecture with contemporary design, pairing noble materials with clean lines inspired by the world of wine.
Inside, several atmospheres await: cosy armchairs, oak tables for more intimate moments, a bistro‑style counter, and a sunlit terrace overlooking the Grand Théâtre.
A constantly renewed wine list
With its wealth of appellations, the diversity of the Bordeaux vineyard is fully showcased on the Bar à Vin menu. Updated regularly, it offers a rotating selection of around thirty wines at all times: reds, dry and sweet whites, rosés, clairets and crémants.
All wines are served by the glass, using high‑quality stemware chosen to match each wine’s style. Each cuvée comes with its own detailed information card.
The young sommeliers who welcome you are always happy to share their passion for Bordeaux wines and guide you according to your preferences. Tastings may be paired with platters featuring regional treats: cheeses, charcuterie, chocolates.
And for non‑alcoholic options?
Children and visitors who prefer not to drink alcohol are equally considered: the Bar à Vin also offers a selection of mineral waters and grape juices — from Bordeaux, naturally.
