Sure, they may be in French, but reading a Bordeaux label doesn't need to be difficult. Learn your way around a label by rolling over the example on the right.

The label clearly states the Bordeaux region.
Name of the wine (château, domaine, brand, etc.).
Vintage - 85% of all the grapes used must have been harvested that given year.
Name of the appellation, accompanied by the words Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée.
Name of producer (château, winegrower, negociant).
Lot identification number.
Volume of wine in the bottle.
Indication of alcohol content: A.A.S. (Actual Alcoholic Strength).
Country of origin.
