This evening of winemaker camaraderie will be held Wednesday, April 10, at Bordeaux’s Musée d’Art Contemporain. The official fanfare for the new vintage will be open to the public!

More than 12,000 visitors will gather in the splendid Citadelle de Blaye to taste the best wines from some 80 Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux vineyards.

Located in the exquisite setting of the Gallo-Roman villa of Saint-Romain, sample over 24 sweet wine appellations from all over France, along with period entertainment and activities for all ages!

Festivites include fun workshops to sharpen your senses on wine aromas, along with demonstrations and musical entertainment centered on this year’s floral theme of the rose.

Right now you can enter to win bottles of wine from the 4 appellations, free passes to an introduction to wine tasting, or to a tasting of Saint-Emilion Grands Crus Classés!

Many châteaux are open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. with special activities scheduled, ranging from vineyard and winery tours to tasting sessions of Côtes de Bourg wines and local products…

The marathon is the chance for runners and their support teams from France (and anywhere else!) to explore the beautiful Blaye region and its lush vineyards.

The highlight of this event is Saturday’s tasting session, giving fans a chance to sample two vintages of more than 100 wines in the company of their growers, all while enjoying a unique and breathtaking view of the monuments of Bordeaux – listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The schedule includes the biggest classic car rally, themed tours, tastings, various workshops, exhibitions, vintage car outings, and the exploration of many fascinating historic sites.

After crossing the vineyards and cellars of the most famous names in sweet wines, participants and spectators  will gather on the beautiful Château Filhot grounds to learn about the region and its wines, guided by the winemakers.
