Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur

Perfect examples of the Bordeaux style, the wines from this family are fruity and elegant blends made with the region’s most reputed varieties. All of the winemaking districts in the Gironde “département” (administrative area) can produce these AOC wines, which account for half of the planted surfaces in Bordeaux and which can be still white, red, and rosé wines, as well as sparkling wines.

These wines are grown in very different soil types, resulting in their various personalities, but the practice of blending ensures that their style remains consistent. To be consumed while young, wines in this family are often available as commercial brands and represent an excellent value for all.

The islands in the Gironde, in the middle of Margaux and Pauillac, are classified AOC Bordeaux and produce only red wines.
